The Fragile Desert

Deserts make up one third of the Earth's surface. Drylands make up a half! But human activity continues to transform them.
As the Gulf modernises and industrialises, the desert that has been home to the Gulf Arabs is increasingly under pressure.
I have linked readings here on the ecology and conservation of the desert environment, and also on the fun you can have in the desert! [See Desert Links]

Have arrived to your blog via an array of links. It seems the blog is abandoned... Pity, I miss Doha and would love to read anything about life in Doha and local culture.

Some great points here in your Blog.

I love the Gulf and it would be a shame to spoil it. The West has made a big enough mess of it's land mass....with homogenus coffee shops everywhere...
